Business Development Engineer
Win technically demanding manufacturing work across aerospace, defense, energy and robotics - with engineers and machinists beside you.
This is business development where the customer is an engineer and the pitch is a tolerance. You will sit at the intersection of commercial work, engineering and national-scale industry, helping secure high-precision manufacturing contracts across aerospace, defense, energy and advanced robotics. You need to understand how things are actually made - but we can teach you that.
What you'll own
Relationships with the people who decide: founders, CTOs, program leads and procurement teams, usually in environments where reliability and delivery matter more than marketing. You will identify and engage high-value customers in defined industrial verticals, and lead technical commercial conversations with engineering and procurement, with support. Inbound RFQs come to you to qualify, and you will assess manufacturability with the factory teams rather than promising first and checking later. Pricing, proposal preparation and contract negotiation are yours to support, as is disciplined CRM and pipeline management. From tight-tolerance milled components to complex assemblies running through multi-machine cells, you will work directly with engineers and machinists to win the work and then help execute it.
What you'll bring
An engineering background, mechanical preferred, or strong technical literacy. Early-career commercial, operations or engineering experience. You should be able to get comfortable reading drawings and discussing tolerances, materials and lead times, and stay structured and calm under pressure. High standards, low ego, bias toward action. Useful but not essential: exposure to aerospace, defense or another regulated sector. The role is based in London, Hamburg or Wissous, near Paris, with travel.
