The role
Security Engineer
Secure the factories, MasonOS and customer data environments - cloud infrastructure and shop-floor operational technology in the same remit.
Most security roles stop at the edge of the data center. This one runs from the cloud to the CNC. You will design, build and operate the security architecture protecting Isembard's factories, the MasonOS platform and customer data environments, to standards our aerospace and defense customers expect.
What you'll own
Security across IT, OT and product - three domains usually held by three people. You will harden infrastructure across factory and cloud environments, implement zero-trust identity and access controls, and design the monitoring, detection and incident response capability the network runs on. You will conduct penetration testing and drive vulnerability remediation, and embed secure-by-design practice into how MasonOS is built and deployed rather than reviewing it afterwards. Securing factory-connected operational technology means working directly with software engineers, machinists, robotics engineers and factory GMs - the shop floor is part of your estate.
What you'll bring
Infrastructure and cloud security expertise, strong threat modeling and risk analysis, and hands-on experience implementing security tooling and monitoring. Experience operating in regulated or high-assurance environments matters, because much of this work is done against an external standard rather than an internal preference. Useful but not essential: securing manufacturing environments, knowledge of Cyber Essentials, ITAR, CMMC, export controls or defense compliance, and experience in fast-scaling startups. The role is based in London.
