The role
CAM Programmer
Own CAM programming and machining standards in Hamburg or Wissous - turning drawings into stable precision production and improving the methods the network reuses.
At Isembard's factories in Hamburg and Wissous, CAM programming connects the drawing to repeatable precision production. You will own programming and machining standards from toolpath to prove-out, strengthen the workflows around the machines and document approaches that other sites can reuse.
What you'll own
Everything from the toolpath to the part. You will program, simulate and optimize 3-axis and 5-axis milling, prove out first articles to aerospace and defense standards, and drive cycle time and machine utilization. You will choose the tooling, cutting parameters and work-holding for aluminum, steels, titanium and Inconel, and maintain the toolpath libraries, templates and documentation behind stable production. New parts will come to you as drawings and leave as repeatable production, with your DFM feedback going back to the customer. The machinists around you will work to the standards you help write and improve.
What you'll bring
Strong CAM programming in Hypermill, Mastercam, Siemens NX or equivalent, and a demonstrable record of holding ±0.01 mm and below. You should have set and run high-end machines in production - Hermle, DMG Mori or similar - and understand feeds, speeds, tooling strategy and work-holding properly rather than by habit. Complex drawings and GD&T should need no translation, and your documentation and revision discipline should be clean enough that someone else can pick up your program a year from now. These are hands-on factory roles: you program it, prove it and help run it. Useful but not essential: aerospace or defense manufacturing, 5-axis simultaneous machining, titanium and high-strength alloys, NC simulation such as Vericut, probing or pallet systems, EN 9100 or AS9100.
