Forward Deployed Engineer
Work where MasonOS meets the shop floor: embed with factories and network sites, ship production code, and make each new site cheaper to onboard than the last.
Every new site in the network adds training, adoption and support load, while engineering capacity stays flat. This role bends that curve. You will work where MasonOS meets the shop floor - embedded with factories and network sites across the UK, Europe and the USA, owning their success with the software end to end, and building the tooling that makes the next site cheaper to onboard than the last. It is not a support role. It is a build role, deployed forward, and it is open to new-graduate and experienced engineers alike.
What you'll own
The outcome at the sites, and the systems that make that outcome repeatable. You will run onboarding, training and day-to-day adoption, and earn real trust with machinists, engineers and site operators - people who can tell when you would rather be somewhere else. Frontline support is your input, not your job: every repeated question should become a playbook, a training asset or a self-serve tool, and you will be measured on the support burden falling rather than on tickets closed. You will put agentic workflows into real operational flows such as reporting, supplier follow-ups and order status, ship fixes and small features directly into MasonOS through the same review as every other engineer, and turn the patterns you see in the field into written demand signals the roadmap can act on. Prototype with anything, but state lives in Mason: no parallel systems of record, and every prototype carries a decision date.
What you'll bring
The ability to ship production code with minimal supervision, with full-stack fluency across backend, frontend and integrations, and hands-on experience applying LLMs to real workflows rather than demos. Communication good enough that a machinist and a CTO both trust you in the same day. Strong ownership and judgment, and comfort operating without a ticket queue telling you what matters. You will need to travel frequently, including extended deployments on site - expect roughly 30 to 50 percent of your time embedded at factories. Useful but not essential: forward deployed or deployment engineering experience, a full-stack generalist background, exposure to manufacturing, CNC, aerospace or defense, and MES or ERP systems.
