Television and media careers in Leeds

Broadcasters and production companies offer different routes. Channel 4 commissions programmes from producers, so a job making a particular programme may sit with an independent company. Search by the actual work: research, production coordination, editing, journalism, engineering, finance or commercial operations.

Use the advert to check the department and responsibilities. A media employer's technology or finance role can be part of the industry even when its title does not mention television.

For a first role, look for adverts that explicitly accept beginners, apprentices or trainees. A production title alone does not establish an entry route. Check required credits, software, experience and whether driving or location travel is essential.

Read the working location, on-site days, contract length, start and end dates, and published pay. Production work may involve travel away from the employer's office. A Leeds office or a remote label does not settle where you can carry out a particular role.
