Isembard is hiring for this role in several places. This vacancy is in US.
The role
Compliance Engineer
Build the governance, risk and compliance foundations that secure the factory network and satisfy defense-sector requirements.
Defense and industrial customers do not take security on trust; they take it on evidence. This role builds and operates the governance, risk and compliance foundations that secure Isembard's global factory network and meet the regulatory requirements those customers work to.
What you'll own
The Information Security Management System, from definition to operation. You will define cybersecurity and compliance standards across sites, and prepare the organization for ISO 27001, SOC 2 and defense-sector compliance - not as a paper exercise but as controls people actually follow. Third-party and supply-chain security risk programs are yours, which in a network of independently operated factories is a substantial surface. You will run internal security assessments and control testing, and build the audit readiness and evidence collection processes that turn a claim into something demonstrable.
What you'll bring
Experience implementing security compliance frameworks - ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST or comparable - and experience operating in regulated or defense-adjacent environments. Strong risk assessment and control design capability, and the ability to translate a regulatory requirement into an operational control that survives contact with a busy factory. Useful but not essential: manufacturing or industrial environments, export control regimes, and experience standing up a compliance function rather than inheriting one. The role is based in London or Dallas.
