The role
Health & Safety Lead
Build and own health, safety and environmental performance across a distributed network of owned and partner-operated factories.
Scaling a factory network is the point at which safety either becomes a system or becomes luck. This role builds and owns health, safety and environmental performance across Isembard's network of owned and partner-operated factories - designing the standards, processes, audits and improvement mechanisms that let the network grow without the bar dropping.
What you'll own
The HSE management system itself. You will design and implement it across all factories, developing global standards, policies and operating procedures that work for owned sites and independent operators alike, and ensuring compliance across the UK, USA, Germany and France. You will build repeatable playbooks for new site launches, partner onboarding and ongoing operations, and standardize incident reporting, investigation, corrective action and near-miss tracking. Audits, metrics and root cause analysis are yours across the network. You will also work with the software team to embed HSE workflows into MasonOS - incident reporting, audit tracking, corrective actions, compliance dashboards - so the system is enforced rather than merely written down.
What you'll bring
A strong track record in health and safety leadership within manufacturing, industrial or other high-risk operational environments, and experience building or scaling HSE systems across multiple sites. Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks matters, but so does practical implementation with people who did not ask for a new process. Useful but not essential: aerospace, defense or regulated manufacturing, CNC factory environments, multi-jurisdiction HSE, and distributed or partner-operated models. The role is based in London, with travel across the UK, US and Europe.
