Graduate Software Engineer
Build MasonOS across the stack and see your software coordinate machines, robotics and sensors on the factory floor.
MasonOS is the intelligence layer behind Isembard's distributed manufacturing network. This graduate role puts you close to both the software and the factories it coordinates: you will ship real systems, see them operating on the production floor and improve them from direct feedback.
What you'll own
You will contribute to core MasonOS features across backend services and the user interface. Some of that software interacts directly with CNC machines, robotics and sensors, turning code into physical action. You will deploy frequently, monitor how the system performs in production and iterate with the people using it. Alongside experienced engineers and the founders, you will gain exposure to DevOps, architecture and machine learning while taking responsibility for useful work from the start.
What you'll bring
Strong foundations from a degree in computer science, engineering, physics or mathematics, plus the ability to write clear logic in at least one modern programming language. We use TypeScript and React, but the ability to learn matters more than arriving with every part of the stack. Side projects, open-source contributions or internships that show you have built and shipped something are valuable. You should be curious, pragmatic and comfortable breaking unfamiliar problems into smaller pieces. This is an early-career role for someone who wants to see software improve a real production system and who can adapt as priorities change. Useful but not essential: TypeScript, Node.js or React; databases, data engineering, machine learning or AI; and basic experience with AWS, Docker or CI/CD. The role is full-time and based in London, close to the factory floor.
