The role

The Senior Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the standards of cleanliness, product presentation and customer care, as outlined in the standards of performance manual are maintained at all times. To deputise in the absence of the head housekeeper.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To deal efficiently with all guest enquiries and requirements
To perform all tasks to a consistent standard as detailed in the housekeeping SOP
To minimize operating cost by using all equipment and products in accordance with the Hotel's manufacturer's guidelines
To ensure that all team members work to the standard outlined in the SOP manual
To ensure that hotel policies and departmental policies are adhered to
To have a full working knowledge of all areas within the hotel which are covered by the housekeeping department
To ensure that contract cleaners work is completed to standard
To assist the housekeeping trainer to develop members of staff in their present roles
To ensure housekeeping staffing levels are in line with forecast occupancy
To work with the reception team to promote a smooth working relationship between Reception and Housekeeping
To ensure that all chemicals are used in accordance with COSHH regulations
To ensure that all accidents are reported to security
To comply with Company Health and Safety policy and fire procedures
To achieve action points arising from your six-monthly job chat and yearly appraisal
To attend training sessions when required and to operate in the line with the training information received
To carry out any reasonable request made by the Head Housekeeper
To be flexible in assisting in different areas of the Housekeeping Department in response to business and client needs
To encourage development of team members and enhancement of product through on-going projects from points raised as a result from room checks.

Proven hotel housekeeping experience
Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Ability to lead and motivate your team
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations (e.g., COSHH)
Experience with room inspections and quality control
Reliable and guest-oriented
