The role
What does this team do?
When banks run into financial challenges, it can affect millions of people, including families and businesses. Our Resolution & Recovery team helps stop that from happening, and steps in to help when it does.
We work with banks and other financial services organisations to help them remain stable and resilient. This can involve developing robust plans for challenging situations or supporting an organisation through recovery so it can get back on track.
Our team is Deloitte's global centre of excellence in this kind of work. We team up with colleagues across the firm to solve some of our clients' biggest challenges.
Our clients vary in size across all types of financial institutions; from large banks to insurers, people who manage money and investments, as well as newer fintech and payment firms. No two are quite the same, so there's always something new to learn.
As a graduate, you will be expected play an important role in supporting our extensive coverage of clients with key responsibilities and will have the opportunity to interact with different companies early-on in your career.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You'll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake. We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all our roles in Early Careers. To learn more about these skills and their detailed descriptions, please visit the 'Discover What We Look For' section in our Candidate Zone.
What kind of work will I do?
In this team you'll have great exposure to senior leadership, working alongside renowned experts in the industry. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development opportunities, participate in client projects, present your analyses and build sector-specific knowledge and understanding.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Contributing to marketing and business development opportunities, allowing you to understand our client's strategic needs and the range of bespoke solutions we offer.
- Contributing to Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) developments, working closely with stakeholders to support clients with further embedding RRP initiatives and integrating them into business as usual.
- Assisting in supporting clients through periods of uncertainty when they are experiencing financial, operational and/or regulatory stress. Our team delivers solutions that protect key stakeholders and establish a path to recovery or a structured route to exit.
- As the global centre of excellence on resolution, you will be working with the UK and European regulators, engaging with global resolution authorities and firms around the world contributing to protecting the financial stability of the financial services sector.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our parent and carer policies here.
How will I develop?
As a Graduate within Resolution and Recovery and as part of the M&A rotational programme, you will complete the ACA via accelerated route.
This role is part of our three-year M&A rotation graduate scheme. You'll start in Resolution & Recovery (your "home offering area") and gain valuable experience through two further rotations within different M&A offering areas. This structured approach allows you to build a comprehensive understanding of the M&A business as a whole, develop key skills, and network across the team. You'll return to your home offering area at the end of the programme.
You'll begin with a comprehensive induction programme, equipping you with the skills and confidence to work with our clients. Ongoing professional development will be provided through your project team, mentoring, and a dedicated buddy.
