The role

What kind of work will I do?

Because our work is shaped by each project and our clients' needs, no two days are the same. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, develop and grow.

Starting out in our Forensic and Financial Crime team, you will have the chance to try various types of engagements that add value to our clients, examples may include, but will certainly not be limited to:

  • Financial crime frameworks: Developing and implementing target operating models, organisational design, and process enhancements, including data and technology considerations.
  • Policies and procedures: Translating complicated information on regulations for clients and helping them to draft policies to reflect these.
  • Emerging risks: Identifying and assessing a company's financial crime risks and supporting them to address these.
  • Regulatory interpretation: Providing guidance on the application of new and emerging regulations, assessing client frameworks against regulatory expectations, identifying gaps, and assisting in the development of remediation plans
  • Impact assessment: Assessing the impact of regulatory changes or new financial crime controls on client operations, systems, and people.
  • Technology: Designing and improving client processes and systems to prevent financial crime and identify key risks, using data and new technology, including AI-enabled tools.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will likely be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your induction and final assessment will be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information within the parent and carer policies here.

How will I develop?

Through the highly varied nature of our work and trainings provided, you can expect to develop a broad range of skillsets, such as project management and leadership skills, with early opportunities for overseeing teams of practitioners, as well as developing subject matter expertise in areas such as:

  • Financial crime technical knowledge across subject matters such as money laundering, sanctions, fraud, bribery and corruption, and tax evasion
  • Leadership skills to manage large-scale transformation programmes and successfully deliver project outcomes
  • Operational and organisational change management skills across people, process and technology, including the responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools
  • Business analysis, stakeholder management, internal and external relationship building, and presentation skills
  • You will also complete an external professional qualification with the International Compliance Association (ICA) related to Anti-Money Laundering

As no two days or projects are the same, your development journey will be unique to you, giving you the opportunity to shape your career around your aspirations.

Application deadlines

Application deadlines: The closing deadline for this role is Monday 19th October 2026 (10am BST) but we recommend getting your application in as soon as possible. Please note that some of our roles may close before the deadline if we experience high demand.

Assessment deadlines: Once you've applied for this role, you'll receive an email from our recruitment team outlining the next steps alongside any relevant deadlines for you to complete the additional stages of our process.

We operate a strict one application per year policy across our Early Careers opportunities. We recommend only submitting an application for a role that you feel is right for you.

Visa Sponsorship: We accept applications from candidates who are currently on student visas for this role. We cannot accept applications from candidates who have previously spent time on a Skilled Worker or Graduate visa. If successful to offer, you must stay on your student visa until our immigration team contacts you c.3 months before start date. See our Work Permits page for more information.
