The role
What kind of work will I do?
This role will provide you with opportunities to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to establish your knowledge of risk, controls and technology, so that you can implement tech controls for clients. This includes learning about key technologies such as AI and then applying this to drive improvements throughout the control lifecycle from assessing risks to implementing, monitoring and assessing controls. This includes but is not limited to:
- Identify and assess clients' key IT risks, developing and implementing long-term strategies for mitigation and improvement
- Design and embed IT controls to ensure adherence to relevant internal policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Leverage data and technology to address IT aspects of their critical challenges, including climate change, cyber-attacks, data privacy, and organisational transformation
- Provide expert guidance and support to build and strengthen clients' IT governance and control frameworks, fostering innovation and confident change management
- Deliver impactful change initiatives that enable organisations to effectively manage their IT risks
- Work at the forefront of strategy and control requirements for internal, regulatory and extended enterprise requirements, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as AI and cloud computing.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our family friendly, flexible working here.
How will I develop?
Given Control Advisory's breadth of services, you will have opportunities to take part in a wide variety of work, finding new environments to grow and develop. Learning and development will also be delivered as part of a comprehensive training programme with dedicated sessions taking place at regular intervals, as well as independent training encouraged through our Learning portal.
The training may include (but is not limited to):
- Controls Advisory competencies and knowledge (supplemented through project work) across a wide array of subjects, such as risk management, change transformation and assurance, and programme management
- You will be required to undertake either the MSc in Digital and Business Risk Management or the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA) to help develop your career and become an industry expert
- Consulting business skills such as stakeholder management, effective communication, presentation, and business writing
- Financial support to get industry certifications relevant to your area of work.
Application deadlines
The closing deadline for this role is 23rd October 2026, but we recommend getting your application in as soon as possible. Please note, some of our roles may close before the deadline if we experience high demand.
Once you've applied to this role, you'll receive an email from our recruitment team outlining next steps and the relevant deadlines for you to complete the following stages of our process.
We operate a strict one application per year policy across our Early Careers opportunities. We recommend only submitting an application for a role that you feel is right for you.
