The Quality, Risk & Security (QRS) team makes sure Deloitte operates with honesty and integrity. We build and manage systems to control risk, prevent financial crime (like money laundering), avoid conflicts of interest with our clients, and stay independent from them. We also ensure we follow all the rules and keep our people safe. We're responsible for making sure Deloitte can continue its work by meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You need to have achieved or on track to achieve 104 UCAS points or equivalent and to be completed by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake.
We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all of our roles in Early Careers. To learn more about these skills and their detailed descriptions, please visit the 'Discover What We Look For' section in our Candidate Zone.
What kind of work will I do?
You will be responsible for enabling the firm to do business, while proactively managing risk to protect our clients, people, assets, and data. This apprenticeship enables you to experience different areas in risk and security within the business, helping you to make an informed decision about your future career. This scheme is a rotational programme, with time spent gaining experience and understanding of key areas of the firm. These can include but is not limited to the following teams:
- Financial Crime: You will learn how to risk assess clients and help make key decisions around the clients we take on and anti-money laundering requirements.
- Personal and Firm Independence: You'll learn about our regulations in relation to independence and support our people to comply with these.
- Deloitte Business and Security (DBS) - Working with our DBS teams you will help protect the firm from security threats. You will learn about cyber security, data protection, crisis management, physical security, vetting and much more.
- Enterprise Risk: Enterprise Risk will give you the opportunity to learn how the Enterprise Risk team supports key decisions about the firm's operations.
- Third-Party Risk Management: You will learn how we assess and manage risks relating to the third parties Deloitte works with.
- Service Lines: You may get the opportunity to work with one of our service lines and get a taste of what it's like to work with clients directly.
At the start of your programme, you will be part of an induction programme where you will learn different skills to help you become ready and feel confident working with our clients. You will also receive continued professional development support via your People Leader, local rotation managers and your buddy who will be assigned to you. There will be a clear development plan to help you progress in your careers at Deloitte and lots of opportunities to give you the best experiences and variety across the firm. You'll be in a unique position whereby you'll work with lots of different teams and colleagues and get a well-rounded understanding of the QRS function, setting you up for an even brighter future beyond the programme.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our parent and carer policies here.
How will I develop?
You will complete fully funded qualifications alongside your apprenticeship which will lead you to a degree equivalent qualification at the end of the 4-year programme:
- Level 4 ICA International Advanced Certificate in Governance, Risk and Compliance.
- Level 6 ICA Diploma (Anti-Money Laundering/ Governance, Risk & Compliance/ Financial Crime Prevention) (Degree equivalent)
- You will be provided 1 study day a week to focus on working towards your professional qualifications alongside paid study leave prior to exams.
