Senior C&E Floor Manager

The role

To assist the Conference & Events Operations Manager and the Operations Management team in the daily management of the Conference & Events Department. Ensuring compliance to all Policies and Procedures.

• Performs duties in line with Conference and Events Operational Standard Operating Procedures. Complies with all Conference and Events and relevant hotel policies and procedures.
• Ensure all team members follow the company's code of conduct. This includes the following of the company's policies, procedures and Health and Safety requirements.
• Complies with and applies all Human Resources procedures and policies in the Management of team members, reporting all defects to the Conference and Events Management team.
• Ensuring all Royal Garden Hotel / Goodwood Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Welcoming all new staff members to the team, both agency and those directly employed by the Royal Garden Hotel. Offering a full introduction to the Conference and Events Teams, Fire Training on first shift, guidance given in the understanding of policy and procedure compliance.
• Actively meets and speaks directly to a client prior to the start of a event to check final arrangements and timings, offering a appropriate Welcome tray for the correct part of the day. The most up to date amendments and final event details must be used. Feedback further changes or amendments to relevant operations departments.
• Works closely with the Conference and Events Operations Manager and Assistant Operations Manager in the delegation of tasks to ensure successful execution of all events, by actioning all requirements. This includes all events and multiple events on one day.
• Ensures an opening and closing handover is completed.
• Communicates on a regular basis to all team members of the department in a higher or lower position. This will create and maintain a close working relationship with all members of the Conference and Events Operational Department and contracted Audio-Visual representative. Feeding back both positive and negative comments to the Conference and Events Management team, to be recorded ad monitored.
• Assists with the Management of the department with the day-to-day successful execution of operations, in the absence of the Conference and Events Operations Manager. Given guidance and support from Senior Groups, Conference and Events Manager.
• Check Event rooms set - ups prior to arrival (At least 1 hour) ensuring the events Standard Operating procedures are being adhered to. Feeding back any inconsistences to the Conference and Events Manager and to the set-up team. Inconsistences must be recorded to ensure the clients expectations are met as with team members training requirements. The Set-up details to be confirmed by the Conference and Event on each occasion for each event.
• Attends relevant operational meetings in the absence of the Operations Managers.
• Assists with the supervision of outside catered functions. Following the correct outside catering policies and procedures, Health and Safety requirements. All relevant requisition and return documents completed in line with the Crockery, Cutlery and Glassware that the catering companies have used.
