The role

Job title and organisation: School Cluster Counselling and Wellbeing Worker - Neurodiversity Project - Barca Leeds
Salary: £32,136 - £36,000 FTE
Hours: 2 x 28 hours & 2 x 21 hours per week posts
Contract: Fixed Term until 31/03/2027
Location: Working across Schools within JESS (Belle Isle), Beeston, Cottingley & Middleton and Headingly and Kirkstall Clusters

The purpose of this role is to provide short term work using a 4-session model of supportive intervention. This will include working in a person-centred way with the young person, their primary carers and other education and support professionals within Cluster.

What you'll do

Working in a holistic way, you will aid the identification and awareness of the key challenges and negative affects of the young person's potential neurodivergence and co-create a personalised strengths-based support plan including additional community support resources. You will monitor and support their progress accounting for additional barriers that may prevent them getting the most from the intervention. You will liaise with carers and professionals to ensure that recommendations and resources within the personalised support plan are understood, adopted and supported by all involved in the care of the young person. You will work alongside carers and professionals within the boundaries of your remit and competency to work through barriers to them supporting the young person whilst they are engaged within the duration of sessions. The successful individual will use their experience and skills as a trained young person's therapeutic counsellor to provide this support within the BACP ethical framework.
