The role
Pricing Specialist - Motability - Salary c.£75,000
This is a great job for someone who wants to broaden their pricing and actuarial expertise while working on one of the UK's largest and most unique motor insurance portfolios. This role could suit someone with experience in pricing, reserving or data science who is looking to develop their understanding of claims, pricing and reserving techniques in a highly collaborative environment.
A bit about the job
This role sits within Aviva's Personal Lines business and focuses on the pricing of the Motability fleet, with annual premiums exceeding £1bn. You'll be part of a team whose primary focus is delivering detailed reserving-style analysis using Python to set a single fleet price every six months. Alongside this, you'll contribute to a wide range of analytical work, including segmentation analysis, pricing projections, business planning, proposition assessments and claims investigations. The team works closely with colleagues across Claims, Finance, Underwriting, Data and Analytics, as well as our client, Motability, giving you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and business areas. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your pricing, reserving and analytical expertise while working on one of the UK's largest motor insurance portfolios.
Skills and experience we're looking for
- Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services industry, gained in a Pricing or Actuarial role.
- Experience carrying out claims reserving analysis (in practice or via actuarial exams).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Statistical Modelling (GL/GBM, Radar/Emblem), Python and/or SQL would be beneficial. Motor insurance experience would also be advantageous.
