The role
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will play a key role in providing control reporting, process improvement, and expert challenge across Business Through Personal (BTP) and Customer Due Diligence Validation & Outliers (CDD V&O) teams. You will assess control effectiveness, identify risks and emerging trends and ensure decisions are robust, well-evidenced and aligned with regulatory requirements, internal policies and customer outcome expectations. You will also play an important role in supporting the continued development of the CDD V&O function.
You will use quality reviews, trend analysis and root cause identification to drive continuous improvement across Financial Crime Operations. Working closely with managers, investigators and key stakeholders, you will act as a trusted subject matter expert, providing coaching, guidance and constructive challenge to improve investigation quality, strengthen controls, reduce risk and embed a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous learning.
About you
As a minimum, you will have:
- Proven, recent AML experience within either a 1st or 2nd line function, with a strong understanding of financial crime frameworks
- Exceptional investigative skills with sharp attention to detail and sound decision-making, thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Demonstrable experience of designing process frameworks
- The ability to carry out data analysis and understand how to manipulate data to identify outliers in a vast dataset
- The confidence and credibility to influence at a senior level, with strong stakeholder management skills that foster effective and collaborative relationships
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports that articulate findings and support robust decision-making
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
