The role
What you'll be doing
You'll lead the transformation of how personalised customer communications are created, managed and delivered across Nationwide, helping to shape the future content operating model and ensuring content, data, technology and processes work together to deliver relevant, timely and compliant customer experiences at scale.
You will work closely with Marketing, Digital, Data, Technology, Risk and Compliance teams to define and deliver a strategic transformation roadmap that improves content operations and supports the delivery of personalised communications. Acting as a key leader across the business, you'll bring stakeholders together to identify opportunities for improvement, establish more effective ways of working and enable scalable, customer-focused communication journeys.
A key focus of the role will be designing and embedding new content supply chain processes, governance frameworks and operating models. You'll drive improvements in content creation, approval and delivery activities, leveraging automation, AI and marketing technology solutions to improve efficiency, consistency and scalability while maintaining robust risk and regulatory controls.
You will act as a subject matter expert in content transformation and marketing technology, providing strategic guidance on the capabilities, platforms and processes needed to support future communication ambitions. You'll help teams adopt new ways of working, build organisational capability and ensure colleagues are equipped to maximise the value of emerging technologies and evolving content solutions.
You'll also play a leading role in identifying, evaluating and implementing marketing technology and AI solutions, working with both internal teams and external partners to ensure investments deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. Through strong stakeholder leadership, transformation expertise and a continuous improvement mindset, you'll help create a more connected, efficient and personalised experience for both our customers and colleagues.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- Experienced, high-quality people manager who is well versed in coaching, training and developing others
- Hands-on experience supporting multiple teams to build, approve and publish personalised, data driven 1:1 marketing communications across direct digital channels
- Experience creating practical training, guidance and reusable support for content-build users
- Deep experience of content-management systems, templates, component libraries, workflows and approval tools
- Experience owning content, publishing and audit controls in a regulated organisation
- Recent experience leading high-volume digital content build and publishing in a regulated or high-control environment
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
