The role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of platform improvement works on a major rail infrastructure programme.

This role will focus on the delivery of safety and customer improvement projects, including:

You will take ownership of a portfolio of projects from initiation through to delivery, working closely with operations teams, maintenance teams, safety engineers, project engineers and contractors within a live operational railway environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of mitigation works identified through PTI safety assessments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget.

How you'll work

Location: Stratford, London (Hybrid Working)
Contract: Inside IR35 - 6 months rolling contract

Based in Stratford, London
Hybrid working, with a minimum 50% office attendance
Typical office days are Monday and Wednesday, plus one additional day across the fortnight

Alternative Experience Considered

Candidates with a strong rail background will also be considered, particularly those with experience delivering platform, station or operational railway projects and managing works within safety-critical environments.

What We're Looking For

This is not a development role. We are looking for a highly experienced Project Manager who can hit the ground running, confidently manage a complex stakeholder landscape and drive project delivery from day one.

London Underground experience is strongly preferred and considered the ideal background for this role. However, candidates with substantial rail project delivery experience will also be considered where they can demonstrate successful delivery of platform or station-related projects in operational rail environments.

Formal qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2 are not essential. Proven project delivery experience and a strong track record of successful outcomes are more important than certifications.
