Strong backend fundamentals and real distributed-systems experience, with judgement about failure - what is allowed to degrade, and what must never break. Comfort working in high-security environments. Most of all, a willingness to learn how a factory actually runs from the people running it: you do not need a manufacturing background, but you do need to want one.
Build the routing and orchestration layer of MasonOS - the backend that decides which factory cuts which part, and when.
MasonOS coordinates a factory network across four countries, and this role builds the part of it that makes the decisions: which site takes an order, which supplier fills the gap, what the schedule looks like when a machine goes down. It is backend engineering with physical consequence. When the routing is wrong, metal sits still.
The routing and orchestration layer, and the reliability of it. You will build order routing across sites in the network, supplier orchestration and the data behind it, and backend architecture designed to carry more sites than it does today rather than the ones it has. You will deploy MasonOS into new sites as the network grows, which means you will see your own abstractions meet a shop floor that did not read your documentation. The reliability standards for a system production depends on are yours to set and defend.
