Program, set and run advanced CNC machines cutting high-precision parts for aerospace, defence, energy and robotics customers.
The parts you cut go into aircraft, defence systems, energy infrastructure and robots. This is a hands-on machining role across our factory network in the UK, US, Germany or France, where you own your work from the programme to the finished part rather than handing it down a line.
Your machines and everything that comes off them. You will programme, simulate and optimise toolpaths in 3-axis, 5-axis and mill-turn where it applies, prove out first articles to aerospace and defence standards, and take cycle time and utilisation personally. Fixturing strategy, tooling and cutting parameters for aluminium, steels, titanium and Inconel are yours to choose. First-time-right is the standard, not the aspiration, and new part introductions come to you as drawings and leave as repeatable production with DFM feedback attached. As the network grows, the programming approach you standardise here gets used at other sites.

Strong CAM programming in Fusion, Hypermill, Mastercam or equivalent, and a demonstrable record of holding ±0.01 mm and below. You should have set and run high-end machines in production - Hermle, DMG Mori, Mazak or similar - and understand feeds, speeds, tooling strategy and work-holding well enough to argue about them. Complex drawings and GD&T should need no translation. The factory is still being shaped, so you will need to be comfortable improving the setup rather than waiting for it. Experience in aerospace, defence or another high-specification sector is preferred. Useful but not essential: 5-axis simultaneous machining, probing, automation or pallet systems, AS9100 or ISO 9001, and an interest in robotics and data-driven manufacturing.
