Lead Marketing Analyst

£65,000-£75,000 + Bonus + Equity

Fully Remote in The UK

Are you a commercially minded marketing & growth analytics professional who enjoys getting beyond day-to-day campaign reporting and answering the bigger questions around where a business should invest to unlock its next stage of growth? If yes - this could be the role for you!

The Company

A fast-growing, global consumer marketplace is redefining pet care and travel, connecting pet owners with a trusted community of sitters across more than 140 countries. The business has built a highly engaged global community and has ambitious plans for its next phase of growth. With a product that customers genuinely love and a rapidly evolving data function, this is an opportunity to join a business at a particularly exciting point in its journey. Growth is a major focus, and the Analytics team is evolving to play an increasingly strategic role in helping the business understand what is driving performance, where the biggest opportunities sit and where investment should be focused. You'll have an unobstructed view across the business, working at the intersection of Marketing, Growth and Product to help unlock the next stage of growth.

The Role

As the Lead Growth Analyst, you'll sit within the Marketing Analytics function, which is increasingly evolving into a broader Growth Analytics team. This is not a traditional Marketing Analytics role focused purely on campaign performance or channel reporting. You'll take a much broader view of growth, working across Marketing and Product to identify, analyse and size the biggest opportunities available to the business. You'll lead complex analytical workstreams from end to end; framing ambiguous business questions, exploring the data, developing a clear point of view and turning your findings into actionable recommendations. A key part of the role will be understanding how different parts of the customer journey and business come together to drive growth. You'll work across acquisition, customer behaviour, conversion, advocacy, organic growth and experimentation, helping stakeholders make better commercial and investment decisions. This is a senior individual contributor position with no formal line management responsibility, although you'll be expected to coach and support other analysts and help raise the analytical standard across the team.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading end-to-end analysis on the business's most important growth questions
  • Identifying and sizing opportunities across Marketing, customer journeys and Product
  • Understanding what is driving changes in growth performance, proactively investigating risks and opportunities
  • Working across acquisition, conversion, customer behaviour and longer-term growth
  • Supporting major commercial and investment decisions through robust analysis
  • Bringing together channel performance, customer behaviour and experimentation to understand what is driving results
  • Working on larger, cross-functional growth initiatives rather than simply analysing individual campaigns
  • Supporting experimentation and A/B testing to assess new initiatives and measure their impact
  • Helping develop approaches to improve how the business makes marketing investment decisions
  • Contributing to projects around customer advocacy and organic growth
  • Exploring opportunities at the intersection of Marketing and Product
  • Building clear growth narratives and translating complex analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring analytical recommendations translate into measurable business impact
  • Supporting wider commercial questions, including forecasting, pricing and scenario analysis where relevant to growth
  • Building scalable analytical approaches that improve the speed and quality of decision-making
  • Coaching and mentoring other analysts within the team

There are a number of exciting projects planned over the next 12 months, including developing a marketing spend rulebook, understanding how to grow customer advocacy and organic growth, and identifying opportunities where Marketing and Product can work together more effectively to drive business growth.

Your Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring broad Growth, Marketing or Commercial Analytics experience and be comfortable operating beyond the boundaries of a traditional channel-focused analytics role. I am looking for someone who can take an ambiguous question, structure the analysis independently and develop a clear, commercially minded recommendation.

Key requirements

  • Significant experience within Growth or Marketing Analytics
  • Strong experience working in a digital, consumer, marketplace, subscription or technology-led environment
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience using Python or R for analysis
  • Strong understanding of customer acquisition, funnel performance and growth
  • Experience analysing customer journeys across multiple stages of the funnel
  • Experience working with cohort analysis, lifecycle performance, conversion and longer-term customer journeys
  • Strong understanding of the interaction between Marketing and Product
  • Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
  • Knowledge of marketing effectiveness and measurement approaches, such as MMM, incrementality testing and attribution
  • The ability to independently structure and lead complex or ambiguous analytical projects
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate analysis into clear recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders without formal authority
  • Experience coaching or mentoring other analysts would be highly desirable

Product Analytics experience would be beneficial, particularly for candidates who have worked closely with Product teams and understand how product and marketing decisions can come together to drive growth. Candidates from start-ups, scale-ups, consumer technology, marketplaces or product-led businesses would be particularly relevant, although strong candidates from consulting or more traditional commercial environments will also be considered.

The Benefits

  • Up to £75,000
  • Bonus
  • Equity
