The role

(Infrastructure) Projects Manager - Full time, Hybrid working. The role will require successful candidate to work across GTR and NR offices (London and Derby) as part of an integrated team to support the successful design and delivery of the new Wixams Station

Our Business

As Britain's largest and highest-profile rail company, Greater Thameslink Railway (GTR) carries nearly one million passengers on 3,600 train services every weekday. It comprises four rail "brands" - Southern, Gatwick Express, Great Northern and Thameslink.

GTR has been at the forefront of modernisation of the railways in recent years, introducing new trains, technology and working practices while some of the key stations it serves such as London Bridge and King's Cross St Pancras have been upgraded as part of major government-backed projects.

As an evolving organisation, we focus on safety, on time performance and most importantly our people to ultimately deliver a great service to our customers.

The Role

Do you have at least 3 years' project management experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects within the rail industry?

At GTR, we are looking for a Project Manager to play a key role in delivering our business strategy of Delivering Brilliant Basics, Building Strong Partnerships and Shifting Perceptions, ensuring we provide a safe, reliable and customer-focused railway while delivering value for money for passengers and the Department for Transport Operator.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of infrastructure projects from concept through design, construction, operational readiness and Entry Into Service. You will lead project planning, governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and business readiness activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with customer, operational and regulatory requirements.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the successful delivery of Wixams Station, acting as the primary interface between GTR, Network Rail and wider industry stakeholders. Working within a joint delivery environment, you will coordinate activities across operations, timetable planning, asset management, safety, customer experience and programme teams, ensuring requirements are understood, risks are managed and project outcomes are aligned across organisational boundaries.

You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing leadership through influence and matrix management, whilst ensuring operational requirements are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will combine strong project management capability with excellent communication skills, a sound understanding of railway operations and the ability to bring together diverse teams to deliver a legacy project that supports the future growth of the Midland Main Line and the opening of Wixams Station
