The role
YouTube Channel Production Assistant
Location: Gateshead | Hybrid working
Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience
Are you highly organised, detail-focused and interested in YouTube, digital content or the automotive industry?
Vertu Motors plc is looking for a YouTube Channel Production Assistant to join our Marketing team and support the day-to-day running of our growing YouTube channel.
Working closely with our YouTube Channel Lead, you'll play an important role in keeping our content operation running smoothly. From maintaining content calendars and performance trackers to coordinating filming arrangements and preparing information for uploads, you'll help take videos from the planning stage right through to publication and reporting.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being organised, working with different teams and keeping multiple tasks moving. You don't need to be a YouTube expert. We're looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong administration skills and the enthusiasm to learn.
What you'll be doing
As our YouTube Channel Production Assistant, you'll:
- Maintain YouTube performance trackers and gather agreed analytics from YouTube Studio and other sources.
- Keep reporting information accurate and up to date, highlighting gaps, errors or notable changes.
- Support the administration of approved YouTube video boosting activity, including agreed budgets, spend and performance tracking.
- Maintain content calendars, upload schedules, production trackers and video records.
- Keep video files, thumbnails, briefs, scripts and approvals organised and easy to access.
- Coordinate practical filming requirements, including shoot dates, locations, vehicles, presenters and key contacts.
- Gather vehicle details, specifications, links and other information needed for video briefs and uploads.
- Prepare shoot schedules, call sheets, briefing documents, checklists and routine status updates.
- Follow up with colleagues, dealerships and external production partners to make sure information, assets and approvals are received on time.
- Complete routine publishing checks, identifying issues such as missing metadata, incorrect links or upload errors.
- Provide general administrative and production support to help content move smoothly from planning through to publication and reporting.
- Travel to dealerships and filming locations when required, which may occasionally include agreed evening or weekend work.
What we're looking for
You'll be someone who takes pride in getting the detail right and can confidently manage several tasks and deadlines at once.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with data, budgets and vehicle information.
- Good written communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, or similar workplace tools.
- Familiarity with YouTube and YouTube Studio, or a genuine willingness to learn.
- Confidence working with data and performance figures.
- The ability to follow agreed processes, briefs, budgets and deadlines.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, reliable and helpful approach.
- An interest in YouTube, digital content or the automotive industry.
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently would be advantageous.
Why join Vertu Motors?
You'll be joining one of the UK's largest automotive retail groups and supporting an ambitious in-house YouTube channel, working with colleagues across Marketing, our dealerships, Studio and external production partners.
Our Group Mission Statement is
"To deliver an outstanding customer motoring experience through honesty and trust."
As part of the team supporting our online voice, you'll help us bring that mission to life through engaging, accurate and well-organised digital content.
We're also looking for someone who reflects our Group values of Passion, Respect, Professionalism, Integrity, Recognition, Opportunity and Commitment, alongside the organisation, accuracy, reliability and positive attitude needed to succeed in this role.
If you're organised, digitally curious and excited by the idea of working behind the scenes of a growing YouTube channel, we'd love to hear from you.
