The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and collaborative Professional Services Team in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Oxford.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrative assistant who enjoys working in a varied and busy environment, providing high-quality support to students, academic colleagues and professional services staff.

You will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, often working to tight deadlines.

You should be comfortable taking initiative, exercising sound judgement and resolving routine problems independently, while recognising when to seek guidance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will be working with a wide range of colleagues, students and external contacts, so you must be approachable, professional and able to build positive working relationships.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience of working in a university environment, including familiarity with University policies, procedures or systems such as R12, eVision or People XD, would be advantageous but is not essential.
