INTERNAL VACANCY
This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.
We are looking for an organised and proactive Governance, Quality and Compliance Officer to support the effective operation of School governance processes and committees within the School of Life Sciences.
You will take the lead in servicing several senior School committees, coordinating meeting schedules, planning committee business, preparing agendas and papers, producing formal minutes, tracking actions and supporting Chairs to ensure effective governance arrangements are maintained. You will build strong working relationships with senior colleagues, committee members and other stakeholders, providing practical advice to support decision-making and the effective operation of committees.
Alongside committee support, you will contribute to a range of wider governance, quality and compliance activities, including maintaining key records, monitoring actions, managing SharePoint content and supporting continuous improvement across School processes.
This is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting decision-making and governance within a large and successful School.
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience in supporting committees and producing accurate minutes.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate with colleagues across all levels.
- Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
- Experience in delivering and developing administrative systems.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
Why join us?
At the University of Nottingham, we value inclusivity, innovation, and professional pride. You'll be part of a supportive team that champions continuous improvement and collaboration. We offer hybrid working, generous holiday entitlement, and a commitment to your ongoing development.
The role is primarily delivered through agile working arrangements, typically involving a mix of on-campus and remote working. Staff can usually expect to work from home for 2-3 days per week. However, due to the nature of committee support, stakeholder engagement and training activities, the postholder must be able to attend campus as required, including up to five days per week during busy periods or where service needs dictate.
This will be a permanent, full-time position (36.25 hours per week).
Apply now and help us shape an outstanding experience for our colleagues and students.
