INTERNAL VACANCY
This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.
This is a key role in ensuring data integrity within our core IT systems and providing support and training to users of the University's Research Information System (RIS), which underpins the delivery of our ambitious strategic research aspirations.
As a member of the Research Systems team, the role holder will liaise with key internal stakeholders including Schools/Faculties, Libraries, HR, Finance and Digital Technology Services (DTS) and work with colleagues in central teams to support the continuing development of integrations with the University Unicore System and externally facing websites. This is toensure the effective transfer and accurate recording of research data within the university's IT systems and linked websites.
A key focus for this role will be on benefits realisation: ensuring that our research systems are configured to support and enable research activity; play an integral part in the delivery of our core processes and their adaptation to support future requirements. In parallel to this, the role holder will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and utilising research data assets to support performance management, reporting and business planning activities, whilst ensuring data integrity and compliance with university policies and statutory requirements.
The role holder will also act as a point of contact for complex queries regarding RIS from across the research community, ensure the appropriate set up of research awards in linked IT systems, help to resolve issues involving system access, permissions or data quality and support the delivery of the RIS Roadmap and agreed business change initiatives.
The post is offered on a secondment basis for 1 year. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Sarah Basford (Research Systems & Data Manager) at sarah.basford@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
