Since our founding 200 years ago, UCL has blazed its own trail, fostering a vibrant, diverse community of world-class academics, staff, students, and alumni who aren't afraid to think big and think differently. Together, we question the status quo, challenge assumptions, and tackle some of the world's most complex problems head-on. Located in the heart of London, UCL is consistently ranked among the top ten universities in the world. With more than 16,000 staff and 50,000 students from 150 different countries, and an annual turnover of more than £1.2 billion a year, we are London's leading multi-disciplinary university.
UCL's Reward Policy Team develops and delivers the university's approach to pay, benefits and recognition. We provide expert advice, policy development and analysis to support transparent, fair and financially sustainable reward decisions. The team is also delivering a multi-year programme of reward transformation, including enhancements to pay progression, family-friendly benefits, recognition of exceptional contribution and career development. Our work plays an important role in helping UCL attract, retain and recognise talented colleagues while enhancing the overall staff experience.
As a Senior Reward Analyst, you will provide specialist analytical and operational support across UCL's reward and pay-planning activities. You will analyse complex workforce and pay data, undertake salary modelling and costing, and support annual pay reviews, promotions and salary benchmarking. You will also contribute to UCL's gender, ethnicity, disability and equal pay reporting, maintain reward and grading data, and provide clear insights and advice to stakeholders. Working closely with People & Culture colleagues, Finance, senior leaders and academic departments, you will help ensure reward processes are accurate, consistent and aligned with policy, while contributing to the continuous improvement of UCL's reward practices.
If you have any questions about the role or application process please contact Passant Khalifa via p.khalifa@ucl.ac.uk
You will be a highly analytical and numerate professional with experience of working with large and complex datasets and an excellent understanding of job evaluation, grading structures, reward frameworks, gender and equal pay principles. You will have advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data manipulation and modelling, and be confident translating detailed analysis into clear insights for different audiences. You will bring strong problem-solving, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. You will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, exercising sound judgement and handling confidential and sensitive information with accuracy and discretion. Experience of reward activities such as pay reviews, salary modelling, promotions or grading, and a CIPD or equivalent qualification, would be advantageous.
As London's Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates underrepresented in UCL's workforce, including those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled people, and - for Grade 9 and 10 roles - women."
