Full details: UCL Rewards and Benefits.
UCL is London's Global University - a diverse intellectual university committed to excellence, innovation, and inclusion. Our People and Culture division is a dynamic and service-driven team of over 160 professionals who collaborate closely with academic faculties and professional service divisions to ensure our people strategies meet the university's needs. We are proud of our values-led culture and our commitment to removing barriers and actively promoting diversity and inclusion across our community.
We have two full-time HR People Partner opportunities available on a hybrid basis, working from our Bidborough House, King's Cross office for a minimum of two days per week (including Monday as our HR anchor day, plus one additional day).
One role will provide partnering support to a designated faculty. As their HR People Partner, you will influence and support leaders to deliver strategic people priorities, acting as a trusted advisor across your stakeholder group. You will help leaders navigate complex employee relations matters and use people data to inform decision-making. A key part of the role will be translating UCL's people strategy into practical solutions that enhance staff development, engagement, recruitment, and retention.
Working across a broad range of strategic people priorities, you will support organisational change, workforce and succession planning, performance management and culture initiatives. You will act as the link between your stakeholders and our Centres of Expertise, bringing insight, support, and constructive challenge to ensure effective outcomes. You will also champion inclusive leadership and diverse talent pipelines, helping to foster a culture of wellbeing, continuous development, and high performance. You will develop a deep understanding of your faculty's culture, challenges, and ambitions, enabling you to provide informed guidance and tailored people solutions that make a meaningful impact.
The second role is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR People Partner who thrives in variety and complexity. Supporting different areas of the organisation according to business need, the postholder will bring broad HR expertise, quickly understand local challenges, and confidently influence senior stakeholders to deliver effective people solutions.
Both roles are excellent opportunities to build strong partnerships with senior academic and professional services leaders while supporting the delivery of strategic people priorities.

You are an experienced HR professional who thrives in complex matrix environments and can demonstrate impact through strategic thinking, sound judgement, and effective problem-solving. You have successfully managed complex employee relations cases, built credibility with senior stakeholders, and delivered people initiatives that improve engagement and organisational effectiveness.
You are skilled at influencing and coaching leaders, building productive relationships, and using evidence-based insights to support decision-making. A confident communicator, you are comfortable operating in ambiguity and balancing risk with organisational priorities. You are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and understand how to embed these principles into everyday practice.
You enjoy working with autonomy while collaborating closely with colleagues and centres of expertise, and you will ideally have experience within a large public sector, higher education, or similarly complex organisation.
As London's Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates underrepresented in UCL's workforce, including those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled people, and - for Grade 9 and 10 roles - women."
