Full details: UCL Rewards and Benefits.
UCL Careers supports our students and recent graduates to build their futures, make informed career decisions and successfully navigate an increasingly complex global labour market. Alongside our university-wide careers provision, we work in partnership with academic departments to provide specialist, tailored careers and employability support.
This role sits within our dedicated careers provision for the UCL School of Management, one of the UK's leading business and management schools. Home to more than 2,000 students from across the world, the School has particular strengths in innovation, technology, business analytics and entrepreneurship and is currently delivering an ambitious programme of growth.
Our postgraduate students have ambitious career goals, with many looking to build careers across technology, data, AI, business analytics and marketing science. We are looking for a careers professional with strong knowledge of these areas who can help them understand the opportunities available, develop their skills and translate their academic experience into successful careers.
As Careers Consultant: Technology & Analytics Specialist, you will be our lead careers specialist for students interested in careers across Technology, Data Science, AI, Business Analytics and Marketing Science.
You will work primarily with postgraduate students, joining a collaborative team of Careers Consultants and Employer Engagement professionals to design and deliver a comprehensive careers and professional development programme. Through workshops, group sessions, one-to-one coaching and application support, you will help students explore their options, develop their career management skills and prepare effectively for competitive recruitment processes.
You will bring specialist insight into the technology and analytics labour market, helping students understand different career pathways and the skills employers are looking for. This could include careers such as Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Analyst, Business Analyst, Product or Customer Insights Analyst, Quantitative Analyst and Analytics Consultant.
A key part of the role will be keeping close to developments in the sector. You will use labour-market information, graduate outcomes and student insight to shape careers activity, while maintaining an up-to-date understanding of recruitment practices across technology, analytics, data and related areas. You will also build strong relationships with academic colleagues, employers and other stakeholders, working collaboratively to embed relevant employability support across the School.
Our students are highly international and pursue careers across the UK and major global graduate markets, so you will also help them understand how recruitment practices and opportunities differ internationally.
Please note this role is offered on a full-time basis with hybrid working available. As a student-facing role, attendance on campus (Canary Wharf School of Management) is required for currently a minimum of one day per week during term-time but may be more according to workload and business need.
