The receptionist role is essential to ensure the efficient pathway flow of patients through the Radiology department. This post is part of a pool of staff who will help to cover all Radiology reception desks. Without sufficient reception staff we are unable to support 7 day working that is essential to achieve waiting time KPI's.
The receptionists also cover the back office to include courtesy calling and admin tasks relevant to the post.
Radiology receptionists ensure patient information is up to date and accurate on both Radiology and Trust wide information systems. They are a further pause in the process for positive patient identification and help to highlight patient ID queries which supports IRMER compliance.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
