The role
At Northumbrian Water Group, we're investing in our people and our assets, and we're looking for Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join our Maintenance Team based in Bishop Auckland.
This is more than a maintenance role. You'll be trusted to work independently across a wide range of sites, diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and helping to keep essential water and wastewater services running for our communities. No two days are the same, and you will have unique opportunities to use your expertise to improve plant availability.
We have a diverse range of equipment allowing us to offer a unique prospect to specialise in areas such as High Voltage switching, PLC's, telemetry, level control, variable speed drives.
You will be a fully mobile worker and will be provided with a van, starting and finishing your working day from home. All tools and equipment are provided supporting Technicians to minimise plant down time.
The role requires participation in an out of hour's standby rota. We will ensure that you have the relevant training and experience required to do this. Additional payments are made for standby, callouts and any additional hours worked.
We recognise potential, offering a tailored training package, development, and growth opportunities for people to progress internally. With our committed leadership and close-knit teams, you will never be short of support in your role.
We also offer a structured technical development pathway, providing opportunities to increase your earnings and technical expertise. Successful completion of specialist technical modules can attract additional payments of up to £1,600 per module added to your salary, recognising the value of advanced skills and supporting career progression within the business. Up to four modules are available and we aim to get people to two modules within two years meaning up to around £3,200 extra in salary.
