The role
What you'll be doing
As a Platform Owner, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, performance and continuous improvement of a key Marketing Technology platform. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, Technology and Data teams to ensure the platform delivers against business objectives, supports customer engagement and provides a seamless experience for both colleagues and customers.
You'll define and manage the platform roadmap, balancing business priorities, technical requirements and user needs. Working with Product Owners, delivery teams and third-party partners, you'll prioritise enhancements, manage dependencies and ensure new capabilities are delivered effectively and provide measurable value to the organisation.
A key part of the role will be acting as the subject matter expert for the platform. You'll provide expert guidance on platform capabilities, best practices and opportunities for optimisation, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and maximise the value of the technology investment.
You'll collaborate with a wide range of teams to gather requirements, understand business challenges and translate these into practical solutions. Through strong stakeholder management and effective communication, you'll ensure alignment between business goals, customer needs and platform development priorities.
You'll also be responsible for monitoring platform performance, adoption and effectiveness. Using data, insights and user feedback, you'll identify opportunities for improvement, drive continuous optimisation and measure the impact of enhancements against agreed success measures.
Working closely with Technology teams and suppliers, you'll help ensure the platform remains secure, stable, compliant and fit for purpose. You'll support the successful implementation of new functionality, manage risks and issues, and ensure appropriate governance and controls are maintained.
Through proactive leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement, you'll play a key role in evolving Nationwide's Marketing Technology capability, enabling more effective customer communications, improved colleague experiences and better business outcomes.
About you
For this role, you will need:
- Proven experience owning, managing and operating a marketing communications technology platform in a complex business environment, including setting strategy and direction, operational support, issue resolution, release management, user support, and maintaining service performance and availability
- Proven ability to implement and maintain operational controls, governance and compliance requirements for marketing technology platforms
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements, using these to define a strategic roadmap and deliver platform enhancements
- Experience working with marketing communications teams to drive platform adoption, establish best practice, and build capability across cross-functional teams
- Experience leading technology change, upgrades or new capability implementations, with proven ability to define roadmaps, plan and deliver change through to successful user adoption
- Experience using monitoring tools, operational data and KPIs to identify issues, diagnose root causes, drive continuous improvement and measure platform performance, adoption and business value
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
