The role

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Nationwide for a high performing, passionate and ambitious individual to bring specialist risk & control expertise to enable our technology leaders, our Chief Information Officers (CIOs), to operate and execute effective controls and make informed risk-based decisions to achieve good customer outcomes. You'll be pivotal in supporting CIOs through a high support and high challenge relationship to ensure that they operate technology and deliver change in a way that keeps Nationwide and its Customers safe.

You'll lead the execution of targeted risk and control assessments of critical applications and of strategic change programmes. Requiring you to build trusted and critical relationships across CIO Portfolios, including Platform Managers, Engineers, Architects, IT Service Managers, Product Owners and Programme Managers.

You'll provide risk intelligence & decision support to enable CIOs to safely manage risk through decision making - optimising risk, cost and pace of delivery leveraging the wider risk appetite framework and measures.

You'll lead through collaboration across the wider Governance, Risk & Controls teams within the Chief Operating Office as well as into Business Risk Management Teams.

  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand

  • Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development

  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes

You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
