The role

We're looking for a Project Co-ordinator to help shape the future of conservation grazing across the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape, supporting nature recovery in one of England's most important protected landscapes.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of a new Conservation Grazing Hub centred at Bank House Farm. Working alongside National Trust colleagues, Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape partners, consultants, graziers and local land managers, you'll help co-ordinate a programme that supports nature recovery across this nationally significant landscape. Bringing together people, organisations and expertise, you'll help develop a long-term and sustainable approach to conservation grazing that benefits both people and nature.

This role is part of the Arnside & Silverdale Landscape Connections project and is made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players.

For more information about the role and project, please see the Job Prospectus attached to this vacancy.

What you'll do

You'll provide effective coordination and delivery support for the development of the Conservation Grazing Hub and wider Landscape Connections programme by:

  • Co-ordinating activities, milestones and delivery plans across the project.
  • Supporting the delivery of the conservation grazing feasibility study.
  • Organising stakeholder meetings, workshops and consultation events.
  • Maintaining project records, monitoring systems and reporting information.
  • Supporting habitat management and practical conservation improvements.
  • Co-ordinating infrastructure works, including fencing, gates, water supplies and livestock handling facilities.
  • Monitoring project outputs, budgets and expenditure.
  • Supporting volunteer and community engagement opportunities.
  • Helping to communicate the role conservation grazing plays in nature recovery and landscape management.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what's possible in this role.

How you'll work

This is a varied role that combines project co-ordination, partnership working, stakeholder engagement and practical delivery. One day you may be organising workshops and site visits with project partners, and the next coordinating habitat improvements, infrastructure works or volunteer activities at Bank House Farm.

The role includes regular travel across the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape, including visits to National Trust properties, conservation grazing sites and partner organisations. Occasional evening and weekend working may also be required to support meetings, engagement events and project activities.

Who we're looking for

Whilst you may come from a countryside, conservation, environmental or farming background, we welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. If you're excited by the opportunity to support nature recovery and can demonstrate how you meet the following criteria within your application, we'd love to hear from you:

  • Experience of co-ordinating projects including planning activities, managing multiple priorities and monitoring progress
  • Organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate project records and reports
  • Communication skills, with the ability to build effective working and collaborative relationships across teams, organisations and partners.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, partners or contractors to coordinate activities and achieve shared objectives
  • The ability to plan and organise meetings, workshops, events or consultation activities
  • IT skills, including using digital systems to manage information, maintain records and support project delivery
  • Ability to work independently, respond to changing priorities and identify practical solutions to problems
  • A full UK driving licence
