Test Manager - Permanent - Hybrid

A leading global Private Markets investment organisation is seeking an experienced Test Manager to join its Technology function in London.

This is a senior, hands-on role supporting a broad portfolio of transformation initiatives across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of QA, Application Engineering and wider delivery teams, the Test Manager will take responsibility for coordinating testing across multiple concurrent programmes while remaining technically close to delivery.

The role is expected to be approximately 75% test leadership and coordination and 25% hands-on technical testing, so candidates must be comfortable moving between test strategy, governance and stakeholder management and detailed technical delivery.

The Test Manager is expected to

• Own and coordinate testing across multiple transformation programmes and development squads.
• Define test strategies, plans, quality gates, entry/exit criteria and release-readiness reporting.
• Lead SIT, integration, regression, UAT and end-to-end testing across complex business and technology environments.
• Coordinate testing activity across internal development teams, business users, third-party vendors and external suppliers.
• Manage defects, testing risks, dependencies, environments and Go/No-Go readiness.
• Drive consistency and best practice across the wider testing function.
• Remain hands-on with automation, technical testing and investigation where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation, CI/CD and practical use of AI tooling.

The successful Test Manager will possess

• Significant Test Manager or Test Lead experience within Asset Management, Investment Management, Wealth Management or a closely related Financial Services environment.
• Strong experience leading testing across complex transformation or platform implementation programmes.
• Previous hands-on C# experience is essential, either through test automation, software development or maintaining technical testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Azure services, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Recent experience with test automation frameworks and the ability to remain technically hands-on.
• Experience across SIT, integration, UAT, regression, defect management, quality gates and release governance.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across engineering, product, business and third-party teams.
• Exposure to Investment Management platforms such as Aladdin, Charles River, SimCorp, eFront, DealCloud, ThinkFolio or similar would be highly advantageous.
• Practical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude to improve testing efficiency would also be beneficial.
