Experience reviewing and challenging business cases, including affordability, risk and value for money.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial data into clear business insight.
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a complex organisation and manage competing priorities.

The role

Morson are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to support the HS2 project on an initial 5 month contract.

What you'll do

Key Accountabilities of the Finance Business Partner:

Deliver management accounting services for a programme or projects within a programme.
Continually improve the performance of the management accounting service. Take responsibility for specific contracts.
Ensure delivery of contractual financial obligations, forecast and support the effective utilisation of contract funds. Provide financial oversight including implementation of the corporate system of financial control and ensure workstream financial controls are efficient and effective.
Produce accurate financial reporting and provision of appropriate management information.
Production of the finance case in business cases and spending proposals.
Supporting project governance actively managing risks and opportunities against the latest plan, financial forecasts and change control.
Overseeing budget delegations and tracking performance against control totals.
Manage and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.

How you'll work

Location: Birmingham, Hybrid
Contract: 5 months
Pay Rate: £560 per day (Inside IR35)
Working Pattern: Hybrid, up to 3 days per week in the office
