What we're looking for
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least three years' relevant experience in data engineering, database development or a similar data-focused role who enjoys combining technical expertise with business engagement. Strong SQL skills are essential, ideally supported by hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Experience with Power BI, Python, VBA and Power Automate would also be highly advantageous, particularly where these tools have been used to enhance reporting, streamline processes and automate workflows.
Nice to have
Experience within a bank or financial institution would be a significant advantage, particularly given the importance of understanding business operations, regulatory requirements and risk management. However, candidates from other industries will also be considered if they can demonstrate the right technical skills and experience.
The role
Are you a data professional looking for your next challenge in financial services? We're working with a growing organisation based in Central London that is looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join its team and play a key role in developing data solutions, improving reporting capabilities and supporting business decision-making.
If you're passionate about data, enjoy working at the intersection of technology and business, and want to make a meaningful contribution within a financial services environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do
You'll work closely with business stakeholders and the IT team to understand requirements, develop and maintain data solutions, improve data quality and resolve technical challenges. The role offers a varied mix of data development, reporting, process improvement and technical support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and seeing the tangible impact of their work.
description
We're looking for someone with strong analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail and the communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Integrity, sound judgement and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are equally important.
Hiring process
This is an urgent role and we will be shortlisting on 30th November 2026.
