Portfolio Engineering Lead

Morson Edge are working with a well known consultancy who are seeking a Portfolio Engineering Lead (Design) to work within their Water/Utilities division.

Role - Programme Engineering Lead /Portfolio Engineering Lead
Location - Essex
Salary - from £100k to £115k + Package

The ideal canddiate would have worked within Water previously but the client is open to seeing candidates from; Energy, Oil & Gas, Power & Civil Engineering.

You will report directly to the Divisional Engineering Lead and as the Programme Engineering Lead. You will provide visible, accountable leadership for engineering across a portfolio of work, setting strategic direction, professional standards and measurable delivery outcomes in accordance with the established framework strategy. The role leads design development from feasibility through to handover, integrates client, project and discipline teams, and ensures safe, compliant and commercially effective delivery. It also provides the authority to challenge existing approaches, resolve ambiguity and drive improvement and innovation across framework performance, stakeholder engagement and third-party interfaces

Essential
- Widely recognised engineering professional with substantial leadership, client, commercial and multi-team delivery experience.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed engineering teams across multidisciplinary water and wastewater design-and-build schemes.
- Delivery-driven leader able to set targets, manage budgets and motivate design teams to achieve time, cost and quality objectives.
- Strong planning, coordination, stakeholder-management and project-control capability.
- Expert knowledge gained as an Engineering Manager, Design Manager or technically focused Operational Manager on design-and-build projects.
- Able to provide calm direction, improve consistency and support teams through delivery pressure.

Desirable
- Chartered status, or equivalent professional standing.
