Finance Controller

As a Finance Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day financial control work for a business in the manufacturing industry, helping to keep financial information clear and reliable. You will work across the Accounting & Finance function, bringing structure to financial processes and supporting sound business decision

• Oversee day-to-day financial control activities to maintain accurate and timely financial information.
• Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring figures are clear, consistent and ready for internal use.
• Maintain strong financial records and reconciliations to support reliable reporting.
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring key tasks are completed to agreed deadlines.
• Review financial data, investigate variances and provide clear explanations for changes in performance.
• Improve financial processes and controls to make routine work more efficient and accurate.
• Work closely with colleagues across the Accounting & Finance team to resolve financial queries.
• Provide financial insight that helps the business plan and make informed decisions.

A successful 'Finance Controller' should have:

• Experience in financial control, financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Strong ability to prepare, review and reconcile financial information.
• Confidence investigating variances and explaining financial results clearly.
• Experience improving financial processes and maintaining effective controls.
• Good working knowledge of accounting and finance activities.
• Ability to work accurately with financial data and meet reporting deadlines.
• 30% of this role is commercial business partnering with senior stakeholders.
