The role
Marine Hotel Ballycastle is looking for an energetic and hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead our food and drink operation.
The role covers a varied mix of outlets: our restaurant, bar, Costa Coffee shop and its outdoor dining area, which becomes especially busy during the summer season, as well as our event space. You'll bring these areas together to deliver welcoming, consistent service for hotel guests, local customers and event attendees throughout the year.
You'll lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel's food and beverage outlets, building a strong team and creating a positive, guest-focused culture. You'll plan ahead for seasonal demand, support the smooth running of events and keep standards high across every service.
What you'll do
-
Leading, coaching and developing the food and beverage team
-
Overseeing service across the restaurant, bar, Costa Coffee shop, outdoor dining area and event space
-
Maintaining excellent standards of guest service, presentation and cleanliness
-
Planning rotas and staffing levels to meet business needs, including the busy summer season
-
Supporting event planning and ensuring the team is ready to deliver successful functions
-
Monitoring sales, labour, stock and other operating costs
-
Managing ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
-
Ensuring food safety, health and safety, licensing and other relevant standards are followed
-
Working closely with the General Manager and other hotel teams to improve performance and the guest experience
-
Responding positively to guest feedback and finding practical ways to improve the operation
How you'll work
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
About you
You'll be an organised and approachable manager who enjoys being visible on the floor and leading by example. You'll be comfortable balancing the needs of several outlets and adapting your approach across different @types of service.
We're looking for someone with:
-
Experience managing a food and beverage team in a hotel, restaurant, pub or similar setting
-
Strong leadership and communication skills
-
A practical understanding of labour, stock and cost control
-
Confidence managing busy services, events and seasonal peaks
-
A focus on great guest service and team development
-
A good working knowledge of food safety, health and safety and licensing requirements
Why join Marine Hotel Ballycastle?
This is an opportunity to shape a varied food and beverage operation in a popular coastal destination, with the chance to make a real impact on the guest experience and the team's development.
