Optimise live processes on the floor across our own factories and our network's, then codify what works so every site inherits it.
Processes that work in one factory are worth very little until every factory runs them. This is a hands-on, cross-factory role: real time on the production floor, in our own sites and our network partners', improving live processes and then writing what works into the Isembard manual so the improvement propagates instead of staying local.
The gap between how a thing is done and how it should be done. You will go into factories to optimise and iterate live processes, feeding what you learn back into the manual. You will advise the software team on what to build next, translating shop-floor need into MasonOS requirements - you are often the only person who has seen both sides of that translation. Around this sits the wider production stack: new-product introduction, process validation, FMEA, inspection planning and DFM, alongside quoting, order management, supply chain and factory setup. You may help commission equipment and translate working practice into QMS and EN 9100-ready documentation, then train new team members and network partners as sites come online. As the business scales you may be asked to focus entirely on one of those areas.

An engineering, physics, materials science or computer science background, from recent graduate to experienced manufacturing engineer depending on the site, with strong problem-solving and real adaptability. High initiative and an ownership mindset matter more than years served. A basic understanding of coding or data science helps, because much of this role is deciding what should become software. Useful but not essential: a university engineering team, society or personal project such as Formula Student or a robotics society. The role is based in London, Dallas, Paris or Hamburg, with travel across the network.
