Requirements

What we're looking for

Strong CAM programming in Fusion, Hypermill, Mastercam or equivalent, and a demonstrable record of holding ±0.01 mm and below. Feeds, speeds, tooling strategy and work-holding should be things you reason about rather than recall, and complex drawings and GD&T should need no translation. Most importantly you should have led technical people before and be able to grow a team without diluting the standard - this is a factory still being shaped, so you will be writing the standard as you hire to it. Experience in aerospace, defence or another high-specification sector is preferred. Useful but not essential: 5-axis simultaneous machining, probing, automation or pallet systems, AS9100 or ISO 9001.

The role

Technical authority across Isembard's growing UK CNC factories: the full machining lifecycle, and the teams that run the machines.

What you'll do

Isembard's UK CNC factories are growing faster than their structure, and this is the role that becomes their technical authority. You will own the machining lifecycle end to end - CAM programming, first article prove-out, cycle time, repeat production - and build the teams of programmers, machinists and operators who run the machines alongside you.

The floor's technical standard, and the people who hold it. You will programme, simulate and optimise toolpaths across a mixed machine fleet, prove out and run work to aerospace and defence standards, and take responsibility for cycle time and utilisation as measurable numbers rather than aspirations. Fixturing strategy is yours, as is tooling and cutting-parameter selection for aluminium, steels, titanium and Inconel. New parts arrive as drawings and become production under your hand, with DFM feedback going back to customers. You will work directly with the MasonOS software team on data capture, scheduling and automation - the shop floor's requirements reach the product through you.
