The role

Mandatory monthly London attendance with overnight stays.

This is not a fully remote role. You must work at one of our London Assessment Centres every calendar month. Attendance and overnight stays are compulsory.

Choose five or eight working days in London per calendar month, working from home for the remaining working days.

Attendance is grouped into one block of consecutive working days. You must travel on Sunday for a 9am Monday start. There is no weekend assessment work. For the eight-day arrangement, you return home on Friday and travel back on Sunday for the remaining days.

The company books and pays for travel and accommodation. You receive £275 per travelling week to cover travel time-£550 for the eight-day arrangement.

This full-time vacancy is for clinicians based outside Greater London, East Anglia and the South East, and beyond daily commuting distance of our London Assessment Centres. Those within commuting distance should apply for our Hybrid Functional Assessor vacancies.

What you'll do

  • Carrying out functional assessments with claimants' face to face, via video & telephone to assess their ability to undertake activities of daily living.
  • Asking focused questions and use active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information throughout the claimant Assessment.
  • Produce high quality, structured clinical reports on all claimants you assess, for submission to the DWP.
  • Working alongside other highly experienced clinical colleagues to ensure high-quality & clinically fair assessments for all claimants.

Whilst you will not be making decisions or recommendations as to the services and benefits for claimants, you will be using your clinical experience to ask the right questions to fully understand the claimants needs and living environment, gathering accurate information for the DWP to make those decisions.

Eligibility

You must be a Registered Adult Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist currently practising in the UK, with at least 12 months' continuous UK clinical practice immediately before applying. Pharmacists require at least 18 months' experience and must be Independent Prescribers.

Initial training is fully remote. Mandatory monthly London attendance applies once trained.
