The City of Doncaster Council puts in improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Supported Accommodation Officer to work with individuals living in supported accommodation, helping them to address barriers, build life skills, and progress towards more independent living.

Applicants are welcomed from professionals with relevant experience in housing, homelessness, supported accommodation, social care, health, probation, or related services. Experience of completing assessments, support planning, risk management, partnership working, safeguarding, GDPR, and working with individuals with multiple and complex needs is essential.

The post holder will play a key role in coordinating access to supported accommodation, ensuring individuals are assessed appropriately and matched to accommodation and support services that best meet their needs. A person-centred, strengths-based approach is required, with a focus on achieving positive and sustainable outcomes, including accommodation stability, independence, health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Strong skills in assessment, recording, information sharing, report writing, and multi-agency working are essential.

This is a fast-paced role working to tight timescales and requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple referrals, placements, and stakeholder relationships simultaneously.

You will work closely with accommodation providers, outreach services, housing teams, health partners, social care, and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate provision and support effective accommodation pathways.

As a valued member of the team, you will have access to peer support, regular 1:1s and supervision, opportunities to contribute to service development, and the chance to work collaboratively with partners across Housing, Social Care, Health, Criminal Justice, and the Voluntary and Community Sector to improve outcomes for vulnerable adults.

In return for your contribution, we offer

  • Competitive leave entitlement
  • Generous local government pension scheme
  • Wellbeing support and staff networks
  • Development and training opportunities
  • Staff discounts and benefits schemes
  • More information on benefits can be found in the attached benefits booklet.
