The City of Doncaster Council puts in improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Supported Accommodation Officer to work with individuals living in supported accommodation, helping them to address barriers, build life skills, and progress towards more independent living
Applicants are welcomed from individuals with relevant experience in housing, homelessness, supported accommodation, social care, health, probation, or related support services. Experience of working with vulnerable adults, completing support assessments, developing support plans, maintaining accurate records, safeguarding, GDPR, and partnership working is desirable
The post holder will support individuals to access and sustain appropriate supported accommodation by assisting with referrals, assessments, placements, and ongoing support arrangements. Working in partnership with accommodation providers and other agencies, you will help ensure that individuals receive the right accommodation and support to meet their needs and achieve positive outcomes. A person-centred, strengths-based approach is essential, alongside good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
This is a busy and fast-paced role that requires the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise competing demands, and work effectively with multiple individuals and partner organisations. You will be expected to maintain accurate records, monitor placements, support accommodation moves, and contribute to effective accommodation pathways across the homelessness and supported housing system
As a valued member of the team, you will receive regular supervision, peer support, and opportunities for professional development. You will work closely with colleagues and partners across Housing, Social Care, Health, Criminal Justice, and the Voluntary and Community Sector to help people access suitable accommodation, increase independence, and improve long-term outcomes.
In return for your contribution, we offer
- Competitive leave entitlement
- Generous local government pension scheme
- Wellbeing support and staff networks
- Development and training opportunities
- Staff discounts and benefits schemes
- More information on benefits can be found in the attached benefits booklet.
Please review the job summary and profile and demonstrate in your application how you meet the required criteria.
