The role

Amazing infrastructure isn’t the only thing that gets built here. Incredible careers do too. Join Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution team as a Quality Advisor in Scotland and help deliver critical infrastructure that powers communities across the region.

This role can be based from either Fort Augustus or the Isle of Skye. Due to the nature of the position, frequent travel across parts of Scotland will be required to support our projects and delivery teams. As a result, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence.

You will support Balfour Beatty in delivering projects in line with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments. This will include undertaking verification activities to demonstrate compliance with Balfour Beatty requirements, external accreditations and industry good practice.

You will also support the co-ordination, submission and management of Quality Assurance activities, helping to identify and resolve assurance-related issues. Working closely with project teams and the supply chain, you will support the effective implementation of Quality procedures, review supply chain submissions and assist with establishing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to support successful delivery of the works.

What you'll do

  • Attend pre-start meetings for significant projects, including those with complex or specific QA/QC requirements.
  • Support project teams in developing and implementing Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring customer and project requirements are met.
  • Review Quality Plans and ITPs produced by the supply chain and provide appropriate Quality guidance and support.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to achieve required quality deliverables, identifying and supporting the resolution of issues as they arise.
  • Establish and agree sample and benchmark plans with customers and supply chain partners using existing systems and processes.
  • Use digital systems to monitor quality planning, deliverables and issue management against agreed targets.
  • Support the collation and timely delivery of handover records in line with customer requirements.
  • Work in accordance with the processes and procedures set out within the Business Management System.
  • Support the Quality team with internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the implementation of project or business stream Quality strategies, plans and actions across the full project lifecycle.
  • Support the training, coaching and development of Quality skills across project teams, including sharing lessons learned and best practice.
  • Help promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support investigations and reporting relating to Quality issues where required.
  • Promote and support the effective use of digital tools for project governance and Quality Assurance, including providing training where appropriate.
  • Live the Balfour Beatty Values, maintaining a relentless focus on Zero Harm and Right First Time.

About the role

As part of the Quality team, you will support project and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle, helping to ensure quality requirements are understood, implemented and achieved.
