You'll provide guidance, champion best practice, and support teams to understand and address the impact of their activities on customers and colleagues. By driving consistency and robust governance, you'll help ensure equality considerations are fully integrated into decision-making, particularly for people with protected characteristics.
This is a great opportunity to influence meaningful change and help create positive outcomes for both our customers and workforce.
Hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Birmingham, with some travel across our network.

Interviews to be held mid October.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the Equality Impact Assessment framework, ensuring compliance with relevant equality legislation and standards.
  • Embed requirements across business processes, projects and change programmes.
  • Provide guidance, support and training to colleagues to ensure high-quality assessments are completed consistently.
  • Manage governance, including review, assurance and sign-off processes.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, consultation activities and wider accessibility initiatives across the business.
Skills & Expertise
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering equality, diversity and inclusion or accessibility strategies, frameworks and processes.
  • Sound knowledge of equality legislation, with the ability to translate requirements into clear, practical advice and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and influence decision-making.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of teams and stakeholders.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate change and manage ambiguity.
To ensure continuity and an effective delivery of service, successful candidates will be required to commit to a minimum 14-month period in role after achieving competence. This also includes existing colleagues who move by internal promotions and transfers. This time allows our future colleagues to support personal career development by allowing time to build strong knowledge and expertise.
