The role

You will contribute to the Hub's research on climate policy, regulation and governance, working collaboratively to develop innovative research across sectors and jurisdictions. You will design and adapt research methodologies, analyse qualitative and quantitative evidence, and explore how climate policies and regulations are designed, interact and spread across different contexts.

You will help shape new research projects and funding proposals, contribute to academic publications and book chapters, including comparative research using the Climate Policy Monitor, and present findings at conferences and other events. Working with colleagues and partner institutions, you will manage your own research activities, share methodological expertise and engage with policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders. You may also contribute to developing new areas of the Hub's research and Climate Policy Monitor.

About the Blavatnik School of Government

Our vision is of a world better led, a world better served and a world better governed. We are a global school committed to improving the quality of government and public policymaking worldwide, through three routes: teaching current and future leaders; generating research with impact; and engaging with governments and practitioners.

About You

You will hold, or be close to completing, a relevant PhD/DPhil in public policy, political science, law, economics, international relations or a related discipline, alongside relevant research experience. You will have strong specialist knowledge of climate policy, regulation or governance in one or more sectors or jurisdictions, with the ability to contribute to comparative research across different contexts and develop innovative research ideas.

You will have effective organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage your own research and meet deadlines. You will bring experience of contributing to research publications or presentations, alongside the ability to develop new research ideas and contribute to funding proposals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and findings, and represent the research group at meetings.
