The role
You will join the Bodleian Libraries' Content Procurement team, working collaboratively with fellow Acquisitions Senior Assistants to help acquire and process printed books and serials for the University's collections. You will support ordering, receipting, invoicing and donations, helping the team meet service targets and make resources discoverable and accessible.
You will check bibliographic and supplier information, create and update records and orders in the Integrated Library System, respond to enquiries, liaise with suppliers and colleagues, and process incoming materials.
There are four permanent roles available, working 36.5 hours per week. Part-time working will also be considered. Some home working (up to two days per week) may be possible after full training, although many duties must be carried out on site.
Hiring process
You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting evidence form using the attached template as part of your online application. Your supporting evidence form should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. Both documents must be submitted to be considered.
We aim to provide a supportive working environment and are happy to discuss training and professional development opportunities. The Chair of this recruitment panel will be Ann Evans, Acquisitions Manager, who can be contacted with enquiries relating to the role (ann.evans@bodleian.ox.ac.uk). General queries about the recruitment and application process should be directed to the Recruitment team within our Human Resources department (recruitment@glam.ox.ac.uk).
Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (GMT) on Monday 9th November 2026 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday 18th November 2026.
